Oversaw training for new employees and taught bicycle maintenance classes to UCLA affiliated members. Offered proper guidance with respect to repairs and maintenance for clients who came in. Coordinated the community outreach and promotion of sustainability/bicycling in West LA through various events throughout the year.
As Shift Manager, my role during a shift was to supervise my fellow co-workers and keep the crew up to speed on the hourly checklist. Additionally I would oversee any customer relations if such events would arise. Furthermore, because of classes I was taking in high school at the time, I also assisted the General Manager with small marketing efforts such as graphic design of promotional media and social media outreach efforts.
Joined the society in the of Spring 2011 as the marketing officer and, over the year, overhauled the club’s brand and outreach. Went on to become Vice President and serve as the Chief Educator for weekly meetings. Became President in 2014 which entails coordinating several teams of officers across the educational, portfolio management, and corporate outreach arms of the club.
Sponsorship and Outreach Officer
The UCLA cycling team was started over 20 years ago and over the decades the team has established an incredible record. Currently the team is composed of about half graduate and half undergraduate students, with a handful of faculty, staff and alumni. The team is sponsored by several substantial companies in the cycling industry including Herbalife24, Wheelbuilder, and Champion Systems. My role as Sponsorship Officer is to stay in contact with these organizations and facilitate a mutually beneficial relationship between the organizations and the team. As Outreach Officer, I reach out to other cycling organizations as well as handle photo shoots and graphic design for the team.
Founder and President
UCLA Biking Club is a social cycling club for that was created to bring together the cycling community of UCLA. The club organizes social bike rides in tandem with the Bicycle Coalition at UCLA to peddle fellow Bruins to various parts of Los Angeles and Beyond! I created, self promoted, and grew this club at UCLA because social riding is what got me into cycling in the first place. I am enraptured by the weekly phenomenon of meeting new people and going to places I never knew existed to have experiences that I’ll never forget!
Marketing Team Analyst and Talk-show Host
At UCLA Radio I worked on the Marketing Team to spread awareness about our station, current shows, and monthly contests to the UCLA student population as well as the West LA area. Being on the marketing team was my first experience with marketing and taught me that success with marketing in a start-up setting catering to millennials is more than just going outside the box. This meant that creating an appeal for college students involves constantly changing strategy, creating, not just finding, trends, and field research.
As a Talk-show Host, I co-hosted my own current events show about campus events and activities, as well as activities in the West LA area. Each show would feature a special guest or musical artist from the UCLA student population or the West LA area.
